She gave a small shrug, glancing away. “Just a…
He laughed in his mind, this girl is pathetic, she does not know what’s coming for her. He thought. He drank the last of the alcohol and grabbed his leather jacket. ”Well, I’m gonna go home and drink some blo- I mean, drink some more alcohol there.” he corrected himself. His cheeks turned a little pink. He put 2 dollar bills on the counter for the bartender to take. And with a blink of an eye, he was gone.
She blinked at his now empty place in slight confusion, both from his words and sudden disappearance. Well, that was odd……what on Earth was he goin’ on about? she wondered. After a moment she shook the thought from her mind and paid the bartender before she left. She spared a moment for a few quick phone calls to her family and headed off down the road to where she was staying for the night, double checking every shadow along the way just out of habit.

Plus it’s much quieter here. Almost reminds me of home,” she added, chuckling softly and eyeing his glass with just a touch of envy.
